Trash Collection
Penn Waste, Inc of York, Pennsylvania is the Borough’s trash collection agent. There is a two-tier collection system, either as a quarterly billing customer or a per-bag customer. Effective April 1, 2025, the price for customers will be $110.25/quarter and $11.98/bag (minimum of 26 bags per year required). Each household customer can change from one to the other of these plans on a quarterly basis, by directly contacting Penn Waste, Inc. The collection of one bulk item, such as a chair, mattress, box spring, stove, etc. is included each week. The bulk items such as appliances, couches or chairs must be items that two men would be able to lift. Any items containing freon such as air conditioners, refrigerators or dehumidifiers, would need to be scheduled separately by directly calling Penn Waste, Inc. ahead of the pick-up date. SAFETY REMINDER: Please remember to remove all appliance doors before putting bulk items out for collection.
