07/09-08/01 - Do you or a loved one have concerns about falling? The York County Area Agency on Aging will host classes for people to learn how to manage the risk of falling and increase activity levels. The free classes are part of an award-winning series called "A Matter of Balance." A Matter of Balance is meant for people who have concerns about falling, have fallen in the past, have restricted their activities because of falling concerns or are interested in improving balance, flexibility and strength. This program emphasizes practical strategies to manage falls. PArticipants will learn to : View falls as controllable; Set goals for increasing activity; Make changes to reduce fall risks at home; Exercise to increase strength and balance. Registration is now open for 2018 Summer Class at: East York YMCA, 4075 E Market Street, in East York. T classes will be held 11 am to 1 pm. Mondays and Wednesdays from July 9 thorough August 1. 08/09 & 08/23- Sit, Stay, Read - Youth readers can practice with Bliss, a trained service dog who loves to listen. Register for a 15-minute block by calling 717-432-5613 or stopping by the front desk at the Dillsburg Library.

08/11 - World War II Tribute Day from 9am to 4pm at Dills Tavern - NYCHAPS will host its annual WWII Tribute. This free event begins at 9am and features WWII living historians, 1930s and 1940s era vehicles, encampments, speakers, and tactical demonstration. The Dillsburg WWII Honor Roll will be featured alongside photographs and biographies of many local heroes. For more information call 502-1440 or

08/11 - World War II Dance, featuring the Will Fisher Orchestra from 7-10 pm at the Dillsburg Fire Hall - The annual USO-style Big Band Dance under the stars will be taking place again this year in the Fire Community Hall. Jazz and big band music will be performed live by “The Will Fisher Orchestra,” under the baton of Clair Bring a lawn chair and your dancing shoes. The event is rain or shine. 08/16 - Block Party at the Dillsburg Library from 6-7pm. Come ready to build! This is for children ages 3-5. They play with blocks of different shapes and sizes to stimulate the imagination. Drop-in event.

08/19 - Story Time at the Farmers' Market - Join Miss Sue for stories, rhymes, and songs on the law at the Dillsburg Farmers' Market. All ages, drop-in event.

08/20 - Geisinger Holy Spirit Innovations in Healthcare: MyCode - Doctors discuss the MyCode research project and what genetics can tell us about personal risk for some types of medical conditions. This seminar is free, but registration is requested at : or by calling 717-972-4289

08/27 & 08/29 - Henna Body Art - Artist Shelby Pizzarro will demonstrate the beauty of henna skin decoration. MUST be 18 or older to participate. Space is limited so registration is required by calling 717-432-5613. Part 1 (Monday) is an introduction to henna history and design, and includes a skin test to check for reaction. Part 2 (Wednesday) we will apply henna designs to hand or arm. YOU MUST ATTEND MONDAY IN ORDER TO ATTEND WEDNESDAY!!
